My AI Assistant Ran My Business for Three Weeks While I Was on a Cruise

Three weeks ago I boarded a cruise ship. My AI assistant has been running my business ever since.
Here’s what it actually did while I was eating dinner on deck:
Compiled the monthly newsletter: 7 news stories found, click-tracking redirects set up, book cover images uploaded to avoid broken URLs, preview emailed to me for approval. Done at 5 AM on a Monday.
Writing tips posted to X, Facebook, and my blog — every day, automatically.
Student emails sorted and flagged. A broken WordPress redirect script diagnosed and patched without me asking.
One automation had silently timed out for 4 days. The AI caught it on a daily health check, found the root cause (timeout too short, wrong model), fixed both settings, re-triggered what had failed, and documented everything in the status report.
I didn’t ask it to investigate. It just does.
OpenClaw is a self-hosted AI assistant that runs on your own server — not a company’s cloud.
