Children’s Picture Book Formatting

We are not a publisher. You can do it yourself. But here’s how we can help.

Amazon KDP is free, and publishing your own book is something you can absolutely do on your own — I teach exactly that. But children’s picture books are the one format where the do-it-yourself route gets genuinely hard: every spread combines artwork and text, and the technical requirements bite. That’s the gap this service fills.

What this is

A complete Amazon KDP publishing package for your picture storybook: the print-ready interior (artwork and text laid out on every spread, with correct trim, bleed, and page count), the wraparound print cover, and the Kindle (EPUB) edition with a cover that matches the print book.

What it costs

$500. Flat.

Compare that to the “children’s book publishers” who charge thousands for the same KDP upload — and often keep a share of your royalties, or the rights to your book. This is a formatting service. You publish on your own KDP account. You own everything. You keep every royalty.

How it works

  1. Fill out the short form below and I’ll send you a questionnaire: book specs, art status, title and author details.
  2. You send your final artwork (300 dpi print resolution) and your manuscript text.
  3. You receive your complete upload package: interior PDF, cover PDF, EPUB, recommended categories and keywords, and step-by-step upload guidance — including how to have author copies drop-shipped straight to friends and reviewers, at author pricing, without filling your garage with sample copies.

About the art

You own the artwork. I format; I don’t illustrate. Final art should be at 300 dpi print resolution — if your scans are lower than that, print quality will disappoint, and I’ll tell you before we start rather than after.

Who I am

I’m Steve Alcorn. I’ve published more than thirty books through Amazon KDP and taught thousands of students to publish theirs.
